Brattleboro Women’s Chorus, Inc.
The Brattleboro Women’s Chorus is a multigenerational community chorus for anyone ages 10 and up who identifies as a woman or non-binary, of all backgrounds and levels of musical experience. There are no auditions and all are welcome to our Open Rehearsals in September & March or to our concert weekends in November and May or June.
The music is primarily taught aurally, that is, by ear. The side benefit of this is that singers don’t have to be able to read music to be able to participate, allowing anyone to join regardless of experience. The larger benefit is that music is learned by listening, a useful skill for everyone to hone. Songs are learned internally, so that they last in the memory.
Music is an eclectic mix from around the world that is spirited and spiritual with a theme usually announced closer to when rehearsals begin. A sample of some tracks from our latest CD will give you an idea of the variety of songs we sing. Or check out some videos of us in action!
Tons more information can be found on our website. Join us and see/hear for yourself!
